LAOS

Please Don't Rush

Previously occupied as part of the French Indochina, Laos finally gained its independence on Christmas Eve 1954. The beautiful thing about Laos, in addition to its lush countryside and stunning architecture, are the people. The majority of this country hasn't been ravaged by tourism and the people here are indifferent to... (foreigners), therefore you can happily walk down the street without getting harassed to jump in a Tuk Tuk or buy something. Even the famous night markets are hassle free! The only downside is that if you do actually want a Tuk Tuk then hailing one can occasionally be a challenge! This relaxed nature has led many to nickname it Laos PDR (Please Don't Rush) a very endearing name in my view.
